This combo format would eventually developfurther into a more balanced system in later installments, but every Street Fighter game to date still utilizes Street Fighter 2's fundamental combo formula. Could have made World Heroes 2 on the SNES to be. The sound is a little weak but the death cries are awesome. The music varies from decent to very good. Some of those tunes I can still hear when I close my eyes.At 16 fighters and 24 MEGS, World Heroes 2 was one of the biggest fighting games of its time. Yet sadly, World Heroes 2 kind of flew under the radar. In my view, it strikes the perfect balance between being serious and a little silly. Where else can you send Hulk Hogan flying into a spiked wall one moment and the next be swapping projectiles with Joe Montana? It’s cool how each fighter was based off a historical figure. Although it’s a pretty blatant Street Fighter II clone, it also did its fair share of unique things such as the Death Match, air fireballs (Rasputin was the first fighter to have one), throw counters, projectile repelling and so on. Street Fighter 2: ChampionEdition was the first update to see the light, followed by StreetFighter 2: Turbo, Super Street Fighter 2, and finally SuperStreet Fighter 2 Turbo. Dedicated fans appreciated each and every one of these installments...and little did they know in the early 90's, the lifespan and impact of Street Fighter2 was far from over.Simply going to arcades and playing video games was one of my favorite things to doas a 90's kid. The level of pure excitement while driving to an arcade...wondering what the competition will be like, today? Irreplaceable. Theexcitement about fighting games has stayed with me for over 30 years now... andfor that, I have to thank Street Fighter 2. Street Fighter 2 started it all... If it wasn't for SF2 being exactly the way it was, the "fighting games of today" would be very very different. The "idea of combos"as they function in SF2 wasn't actually a planned mechanic and was actually more of a "bug"...which is simply mind-boggling. This combo format would eventually developfurther into a more balanced system in later installments, but every Street Fighter game to date still utilizes Street Fighter 2's fundamental combo formula.
