Head coach, Hauck’s overall record stands at 153-90. He has led the Griz to eight Big Sky Conference titles and four appearances in the FCS national championship game. He is a three-time AFCA Regional Coach of the Year winner and a four-time Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year. Hauck began his coaching career at Montana in 1988 as defensive backs and defensive line coach. He moved on to UCLA in 1990 as a graduate assistant, coaching DBs and special teams. Hauck was the outside linebackers coach at Northern Arizona from 1993-94, then the recruiting coordinator, safeties, outside linebackers and special teams coach at Colorado from 1995-98. He coached DBs and special teams at Washington from 1999-2002 before returning to Montana as head coach in 2003. After his five years as head coach at UNLV, where he led the Rebels to the Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2013, Hauck was the associate head coach and special teams coordinator at San Diego State from 2015-17 before returning to Montana for a second time as head coach in 2018.Hauck was named to the AFCA Board of Trustees in 2019 and serves as the chairman of the AFCA Ethics Committee and FCS Executive Council. The primary calling card for new Chicago Sky coach Tyler Marsh is a depth of experience learning from the best in the business.Before landing the job in Chicago, Marsh was best known as an integral part of Becky Hammon’s two-time WNBA champion staff in Las Vegas. Before that, Marsh learned under two of the most respected coaches in the NBA: Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse and Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle.And when both coaches visited Chicago last weekend to face the Bulls, they voiced confidence in Marsh’s ability to transform the Sky in his debut as a head coach.“​​Tyler’s got more rings than anybody sitting in this room right now, including me,” Nurse said jokingly, using his fingers to count out Marsh’s four championship titles — one in the D-League, one in the NBA and two in the WNBA. “He’s almost got a full handful.”Nurse hired Marsh for his first job out of college with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League (now known as the G League). Marsh was an all-access player development coach, assigned to answer his phone any time of day or night to shuttle a player to the training facility and spend hours in the gym working on handles and rebounding shots.The Vipers won the D-League title that year, a victory that immediately earned Nurse an assistant role with the Toronto Raptors. They spent the next five years apart — Marsh working in assistant roles throughout the D-League, Nurse working his way to the front bench — until Nurse took over the Raptors as head coach in 2018. He immediately hired Marsh onto his staff, and the pair went on to win another ring.During those three years working together, Nurse became accustomed to one constant: the presence of Marsh’s father, Donnie, a lifelong college coach. Donnie Marsh tagged along whenever he could, sitting in an empty row of bleachers with a pen in hand, taking notes through training camp practices and off-day workouts. Nurse quickly learned this was a shared trait among the Marsh family — a hunger to learn matched with an intense attention to detail.Carlisle echoed this praise. But something else stuck out to him when he first met Tyler Marsh, who had been an assistant with the Pacers for a year when Carlisle took over in 2021. Coaches rarely retain assistants from the old guard, but Marsh was a clear exception. Carlisle saw the potential in Marsh as a coach, but he equally valued Marsh’s ability to command attention despite a reserved manner.“He’s a man of few words, but when he speaks, people listen,” Carlisle said. “He gains respect very quickly.”Marsh wants to be his own man in Chicago. MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho football head coach Thomas Ford Jr. announced the promotion of Matt Linehan to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Linehan, the last Vandal bowl-winning quarterback and son of former Vandal quarterback and NFL Head Coach Scott Linehan, spent the past three seasons as the Idaho wide receivers coach and the last year as the recruiting coordinator. "Excited to continue my time In Moscow as a part of Thomas Ford's Staff," Linehan said. "This opportunity has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn't think of a better place to do it at. Let's keep this thing rolling!" The receivers thrived under Linehan's tutelage, at least one receiver in the past three seasons has hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark. In 2022, Hayden Hatten caught 83 passes for 1,209 yards and a school record 16 touchdowns and Jermaine Jackson caught 54 balls for 1,049 yards and five TDs. In 2023, Hatten caught 93 passes for 1,231 yards and nine TDs. This season, Jordan Dwyer caught 78 passes for 1,192 yards and 12 TDs. Hatten and Jackson both earned First-Team All-Big Sky honors in 2022, while Hatten earned first-Team honors in 2023. Dwyer picked up second-team All-Big Sky honors during the 2024 season. Hatten was a consensus All-American in 2022 and 2023. Jackson and Hatten were both in NFL camps this year and Jackson earned a roster spot with the New Orleans Saints while Hatten signed a contract with the BC Lions with the Canadian Football League. "Matt is an incredibly talented young coach that has a great understanding of offensive football," Linehan said. "He's going to be in a constant pursuit of an edge and will challenge our guys to be great. He will be an incredible mentor for our QBs and I know he will find ways to get the ball into our best players hands!" In 2022, Linehan returned to Idaho, the place where he led the Vandals to the 2016 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Championship. He passed for over 10,000 yards and 62 touchdowns in his career, including 3,184 yards and 19 TDs during the 2016 Bowl Championship season.Linehan holds records for career attempts and completions, he is second for yards, third for yards per game.
