This section explains how to use the SiteScope Resources monitor. About SiteScope monitoring The SiteScope Resources monitor graph shows the SiteScope resources measured during the test run. The SiteScope monitor can measure server, network, and processor performance counters. For detailed information on the performance counters that SiteScope can monitor, refer to the relevant SiteScope documentation available from the Software Documentation Portal at Back to top Prerequisites Below is a list of prerequisites that are required to use this monitor: Before setting up the SiteScope monitor, ensure that SiteScope has been installed on a server. You can install SiteScope on the same machine as the Controller, or on a dedicated server. If SiteScope is installed on a machine other than the Controller, verify that the SiteScope machine is accessible from the Controller machine. If your monitor accesses a server outside of your internal network, you may need to set up a web proxy to collect data from it. For details, see Prerequisites. Back to top Set up the SiteScope monitor This task describes how to configure the SiteScope monitor. From the LoadRunner Enterprise navigation toolbar, click and select Monitors (under Assets). In the test resource tree, select an existing monitor profile, or click New Monitor Profile and create a new monitor profile. In the Monitor Profile page, click Add Monitor and select SiteScope. In the SiteScope page, enter the server details: UI Elements Description Server The SiteScope server name. Port The SiteScope port. Default: 8888 Use HTTPS Specify if you are using a secure HTTP connection. Use Account Select when SiteScope is working in secure mode, which requires authentication. Enter the SiteScope account name, user name and password in the corresponding fields. User Name When Use Account is selected, enter the relevant user name. Password When Use Account is selected, enter the relevant password. Click Get Counters to display a list of available metrics and counters per metric from the selected SiteScope application, and select the relevant measurements that you want to monitor. LRP/LRE related information - installed products from LoadRunner family, patches, custom components, main executable files, related environment variables, LoadRunner agent details, various configuration settings such as last used web recording options, vugen.ini, correlation configuration, Analysis configuration, logs, registration failures, various protocol information etc. Other related information - .NET version, JAVA installations (JDK or JRE), Citrix, RDP and Oracle clients. The only prerequisite is .NET version higher than 3.5 must be installed on the LRP/LRE machine.Running LoadRunner Detect Extract the ZIP fileonto the LoadRunner Professional or LoadRunner Enterprise machine. Run LRDetect .exe file. In the tool window, click on Collect Info button to start collecting the data.Once the data is collected, a report will be generated in html format and opened automatically in the default browser. The report file (LR_Detect_Report .html) file is saved in the same directory LRDetect .exe is located. Send Info button will become available in the tool window after the report generation. It will invoke the e-mail client and attach the report. Typically, a threshold is assigned to each object/instance/counter, service, or process in a monitor set. Alarms can be set to trigger if any of the thresholds in the monitor set are exceeded. A monitor set should be used as a logical set of things to monitor. A logical grouping, for example, could be to monitor all counters and services integral to running an Exchange Server. You can assign a monitor set to any machine that has an operating system of Windows 2000 or newer.
